Illinois Watch Co., Springfield, Illinois, "Stuart", man's gold pocket watch, 15 jewels, stem wind and lever set, gilt plate movement with lever escapement in a 14 karat, yellow gold, reeded edge, engine turned and engraved hunting case, roman numeral, double sunk white enamel dial, blued steel hands, serial #51715, 121.9g TW, c1880.
CONDITION:
CASE: Shallow dents and dings; Very fine scratches on outer surface of case; Very fine scratches on inner surface of case; Engine turning and engraving with minor wear; Front cover with gap at band when closed; Rear cover snap worn; Plastic crystal; Bow and crown with wear; Precious metal content marked. DIAL: Dirty; Crack, center, along edge; Glue residue; Minor chips concealed by bezel. HANDS: Minor oxide, minute. MOVEMENT PLATES: Very fine scratches on plate; Short, deep scratch at case screw; Regulator with a few specks of oxide; Specks of dirt. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks) .
